Evaluation Process

The evaluation process contains three parts: the intake, the assessment, and the feedback session. The intake and assessment portions often take place in the same appointment and require 1.5 to 3 hours to complete.

Intake

Dr. Creasy will meet with you and/or your child to discuss relevant information. The goal of the initial intake is to gain a full understanding of the challenges you or your child face in order to guide the testing process. Relevant information may include previous testing, teacher comments, parent observations, medical history, and your child’s comments.

Assessment

After the initial intake, Dr. Creasy will administer various diagnostic assessments.
These assessments measure traits such as overall intelligence, attention, social-emotional functioning, and other personality traits.
When appropriate and/or necessary, Dr. Creasy may also observe you or your child at school to gain further insight. The results of these assessments can offer evidence of any underlying psychological issue that may contribute to your or your child’s difficulties.

Feedback Session

Upon completion of the assessments, Dr. Creasy provides a detailed report that includes results of the evaluation, diagnoses of conditions, and recommendations for treatment.  Dr. Creasy will walk you through the report and explain all results in a clear and encouraging manner. The report serves as documentation to set up academic accommodations, including 504 and IEP plans and guide further treatment. The feedback session can take place in-person, virtually, or over the phone.
